Detailed information on the 929 biological respiration and oxygen consumption analysis system
Six channel aquatic organism respiration and oxygen consumption analysis system 929 model
The 929 model is a system that can repeatedly test dissolved oxygen, store data, and analyze it through a PC. Applying this system can save time for respiratory experiments and dissolved oxygen monitoring. A set of 929 system includes: 1 929 host, 1-6 1302 oxygen electrodes, electrode service accessories, and reactors (1 RC650 or 1-6 RC300, RC350, RC400 or other customized reactor containers). This system includes a microcomputer interface that can receive 6 1302 oxygen electrodes and software for operation on a PC. This is a Clark polarographic electrode with a 22 micron diameter platinum cathode and silver chloride anode connected by a buffered sodium chloride electrolyte.
In a typical structure, the cathode is shielded with a low permeability polypropylene membrane in order to allow the electrode to be used in solutions without stirring or solutions that require minimal stirring. With these membranes, the response time is correspondingly slower. To obtain a rapid response, it is necessary to prepare a fast respiratory enzyme preparation, using a very thin FEP (fluorinated ethylene propylene) membrane (with a special electrode sheath P/N SI 035), and the stirring of the medium must also be relatively fast. These electrodes do not have temperature compensation and must be used within a controlled temperature range (within ± 0.05 ℃). They are applied in an electrode sheath of the StrathKelvin attachment, so only the top of the electrode is exposed to the medium.
■ Performance:
Reaction time at 37 ℃
- Polypropylene film: 18 seconds (with a 90% change)
- FEP film: 6 seconds (for 90% change)
- Oxygen consumption (polypropylene film): 0.5—3×10-10mg O2/min
- Temperature coefficient: 2%/℃
Optional respiratory reactors of various types
RC400 respiratory reactor
Application: Testing respiration rate of large aquatic animals, including mussels and fish fry.
characteristic:
- The reactor capacity is 730ml.
- The design of the reactor ensures minimal interference from animals during the experimental process.
- The minimum stirring required to measure respiratory rate. If the animal is moving, there is no need to stir it.
RC300 and RC350 respiratory reactors
Application: Can be used for small-scale testing of OUR (oxygen consumption rate) in microbial suspensions, cell suspensions, mitochondria, or enzymes.
characteristic:
- Small sample capacity.
- Transparent reactor.
Performance:
